Ex-Sequoia Capital Partner Blasts Sex Assault Allegations

Law360, Los Angeles (March 14, 2016, 10:59 PM EDT) -- A former Sequoia Capital partner hit back Monday in California state court at allegations levied by a woman claiming he sexually abused her for 13 years, saying the accusations were false and he agreed to pay her $40 million in “hush money” because she had threatened to go public.

Michael Goguen filed the countersuit in San Mateo Superior Court six days after former exotic dancer Amber Laurel Baptiste filed the breach-of-contract suit claiming Goguen reneged on a $40 million settlement after only paying $10 million. Goguen claims that the relationship was entirely consensual and he only agreed to the “extorted agreement”...
