Fremont Says Ch. 11 Blocks Ex-Counsel Wage Case

Law360, New York (November 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The successor to Fremont General Corp. said Wednesday that a lawsuit filed by the company's former general counsel should not be allowed to go forward because the suit would violate the stay that was enacted when the financial services holding company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Fremont Reorganizing Corp. argued in a filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California that any claims made against it by Alan Faigin, Fremont General's former general counsel, would actually be made against the debtor...
