FTC Likely To Remain Short-Handed Through Election

Law360, New York (March 22, 2016, 10:12 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission will be in the unusual position of having just three commissioners when Julie Brill leaves her post at the end of the month, and experts say it will be difficult, if not impossible, to get the agency back to full strength before 2017.

The FTC announced Tuesday that Brill would step down at the end of the month and head into private practice at Hogan Lovells, ending a six-year tenure that has been punctuated by a strong defense of consumer privacy issues.

Her departure, along with Joshua Wright's last August, leaves the FTC with just three commissioners....
