DuPont Again Fails To Win Injunction In Patent Suit

Law360 (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Concerned that DuPont Co. could be monopolizing the heat-based printing plate market, a judge has denied the company’s second attempt to secure a preliminary injunction against MacDermid Inc. in a case involving a dispute over patent ownership.

In an opinion filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Judge Mary L. Cooper said granting the injunction would hurt consumers by giving DuPont too much power in the market for heat-based printing plate technologies.
