AT&T Breached Contracts, But No Conspiracy: Jury

Law360 (November 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal jury in Kansas has said it wasn't convinced that AT&T Corp. was part of a conspiracy to fix surcharge rates, but found AT&T breached its contracts with a subclass of California residential customers and directed the company to pay them $16.9 million.

The jury handed down its verdict Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, and judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff subclass on the breach of contract claim and in favor of AT&T on all other claims....
