Quigley Urges Court To Overrule Insurance Protests

Law360, New York (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pfizer Inc. is fighting back against insurance-related objections to the reorganization plan proposed by bankrupt subsidiary Quigley Co., urging the court to overlook the protests regarding how the now-defunct unit intends to take care of its asbestos liabilities.

On Friday, Quigley and Pfizer filed a joint motion to overrule the objections brought by various insurers over the fourth amended plan of reorganization, which allows for Quigley to fund the asbestos trust with proceeds from various insurance settlements.
