Trial Pros: Leon Cosgrove's Scott Cosgrove

Law360, New York (July 14, 2016, 3:23 PM EDT) -- Scott B. Cosgrove is founding partner in 2013 of Leon Cosgrove LLC. His recent successes include the defense at trial of a multicount dispute in which the plaintiff claimed a 50 percent interest in assets totaling $75 million. In 2011, with his former partner, he obtained a judgment for an instrumentality of the French Government (CDR Creances), awarding it six properties valued in excess of $120 million in restitution for a massive mortgage fraud. In October 2015 he tried a complex series of claims against Region's Bank for aiding and abetting the fraud for which CDR was awarded the six properties. In 2013, Cosgrove obtained a zero jury verdict on derivative claims against the president of a corporation totaling $9 million. Cosgrove has been recognized for his successes in CDR Creances SAS v. Leon Cohen (2011), Berry v. Budget Rent A Car Systems Inc. (2007), and In re NationsRent Rental Fee Litigation, (2009). He also secured trial and appellate wins for Verizon in Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless v. Jason Hope in Arizona federal court and on appeal to the Ninth U.S. Court of Appeals....
