Zimmer Tries To Clear Name In Price-Fixing Scandal

Law360, New York (July 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Zimmer Holdings Inc., one of the orthopedic companies being investigated by the Justice Department for alleged price-fixing, divulged Wednesday specifics about the case that, if true, would ostensibly clear it of wrongdoing.

According to Zimmer, the DOJ is investigating a single incident that took place in fall 2005. At that time, a hospital e-mailed an implant bidding process proposal to Zimmer and its competitors.
