FERC Reaches Settlement Deal With Amaranth

Law360, New York (November 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Amaranth Advisors LLC and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission have reached a settlement that would put to rest the agency's claims that the defunct hedge fund manipulated natural gas futures contract prices.

In an order filed Monday, chief administrative law judge Curtis L. Wagner Jr. noted that FERC and Amaranth have reached a settlement, which was filed with the agency this week, but it must still be examined and approved by the commission.
