Jordanian's Suit Over Oil Deals To Stay In Florida

Law360 (December 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Jordanian man's lawsuit against his former business partners will remain in Florida state court after a judge rejected the defendants' bid to send the dispute over U.S. Department of Defense oil delivery contracts worth roughly $1.3 billion back to Jordan.

While Jordan would be an adequate alternative forum for the litigation, both the private and public interest factors favor Florida, Circuit Court Judge Robin Rosenberg ruled last week after going through the four steps of the so-called Kinney analysis for weighing forum non conveniens claims....
