Energy-Meter Maker Enjoined In Infringement Suit

Law360, New York (December 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has temporarily enjoined SmartLabs Inc. from moving forward with the production of its Save-A-Watt plug-in energy meter until litigation surrounding a patent the device allegedly infringes is resolved.

The order, handed down on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, also dismissed with prejudice SmartLabs' counterclaim for a declaration that the Save-A-Watt does not infringe plaintiff P3 International Corp.'s patent.
