Kings Plaza Seeks To Recoup Oil Spill Cleanup Costs

Law360, New York (December 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Hoping to recover money spent on a cleanup, the owners of New York's Kings Plaza Shopping Center are suing the operators of an on-site power generating plant as well as the petroleum deliverers, which the center claims are each responsible for a 2006 oil spill at the property.

The complaint, lodged Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, claims a 60,000-gallon underground storage tank system leaked oil, contaminating the site and local groundwater and endangering public health.
