Bennigan's, Ponderosa Owner Hit With WARN Suit

Law360, New York (December 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The company that owns popular but bankrupt restaurant chains including Bennigan's, Steak and Ale, and Ponderosa has been hit with a purported class action accusing it of failing to provide written notice of a mass layoff, in violation of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988.

The suit against Metromedia Co., its subsidiary Metromedia Restaurant Group Inc. and other allegedly affiliated companies was filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
