Calif. OKs Broad Greenhouse Gas Rules

Law360, New York (December 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- California has adopted the nation's most sweeping global warming plan, with state regulators reportedly giving the green light to a set of ambitious goals aimed at helping the state achieve its target of lowering greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.

The plan was ushered in after the unanimous approval of the California Air Resources Board at a public meeting held Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
