Obama To Pick Climate Change Expert To Head DOE

Law360, New York (December 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- After a meeting this week with Al Gore to discuss climate policy, calling it “a matter of urgency,” President-elect Barack Obama reportedly has decided on Nobel Prize-winning climate change expert Steven Chu for Energy secretary.

Several news outlets — including the Los Angeles Times, which cited a “senior Democrat” as its source — reported Thursday that Obama has chosen the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory director to head the U.S. Department of Energy.
