USPTO Nixes, Upholds Patents In Fairchild, PI Spat

Law360 (December 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has re-examined two key patents at the center of a $34 million infringement suit that Power Integrations Inc. won against Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. in 2007 over cell phone and computer technology.

Fairchild announced Thursday that the USPTO had issued rejections of certain claims for PI-held U.S. Patent Numbers 6,107,851 and 6,249,876, which were part of a lawsuit filed by PI in October 2004 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
