Dreier Attorneys May Have Seen Last Payday

Law360 (December 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The gravy train at Dreier LLP appears to have come to a halt in the wake of the indictment of firm founder Marc S. Dreier, with the court-appointed receiver warning remaining attorneys not to expect any more paychecks.

On Friday, receiver Mark Pomerantz, a partner with Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison, posted a notice to current and former employees in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York indicating that the firm would not be able to issue paychecks on Monday....
