Investment Funds To Pay $800K For HSR Violations

Law360, New York (December 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two related investment funds have agreed to pay $800,000 to settle charges that they violated premerger reporting requirements when they each purchased more than $50 million in AutoZone Inc. securities without notifying the government.

Under the settlement, which is still subject to court approval, Greenwich, Conn.-based ESL Partners LP will pay $525,000 and New York-based Zam Holdings LP will pay $275,000 in civil penalties.
