National Lampoon, CEO Charged With Market Fraud

Law360, New York (December 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has sued National Lampoon Inc. — the company behind such iconic movies as “Animal House" and “Christmas Vacation” — and its CEO for allegedly scheming to artificially inflate the company's stock.

On Monday, the SEC sued National Lampoon and CEO Daniel S. Laikin, as well as two stock promoters and a consultant, for fraud in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
