International Rectifier And Hitachi/Renesas Settle Chip Patent Suits

Law360, New York (January 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Hitachi Ltd. and Renesas Technology Corp. have settled all outstanding litigation in the U.S. and Japan with International Rectifier Corp. over patents for power-management chips, the companies said Wednesday.

Hitachi and International Rectifier had been locked in lawsuits and counter lawsuits in the United States and Japan since 2002 over a patent on production of a semiconductor that controls voltage.
