DOI Hit With 2nd Suit Over Late ESA Rule Change

Law360 (December 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- An eleventh-hour rule change by the U.S. Department of the Interior that environmental groups say neuters the Endangered Species Act has sparked a lawsuit from the Natural Resources Defense Council, at least the second such suit in the past week.

The NRDC and several other environmental groups filed the suit Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against the Interior Department, which announced the ESA rule change last week.
