Gay Rights Group Praises New Federal Pension Law

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A new federal law easing pension plan rules for businesses and senior citizens has not only won the approval of business groups but has also been lauded by gay rights group the Human Rights Campaign, which says the law benefits same-sex couples.

On Dec. 23, President Bush signed the Worker, Retiree and Employer Recovery Act of 2008, which aims to relax rules for retirement plans, which have been suffering amid the economic crisis.
