Doomsday For Thacher Proffitt

Law360, New York (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- After more than 150 years in the business, Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP is closing up shop, ending months of speculation about the firm’s ability to weather the current economic storm.

Thacher has revealed that it plans to dissolve in the coming days, following in the footsteps of recently disbanded firms like Heller Ehrman and Thelen Reid.
