Patent In Rubber Glove Case Invalid: ITC

Law360 (December 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has found that a patent held by Tillotson Corp., a maker of rubber gloves used by medical professionals, is invalid, a defeat for the company in a case in which it accused dozens of rival glove companies of infringement.

On Dec. 22, the ITC issued a ruling upholding an initial determination in August by Administrative Law Judge Theodore Essex, who found that while the majority of the gloves infringe the patent-at-issue, the infringed claims are invalid.
