Judge Nixes WaMu Confidentiality Request On Sales

Law360 (December 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal bankruptcy judge has reportedly denied Washington Mutual Inc.'s request to redact purchase prices from asset sales notices, which WaMu's lawyer argued might diminish the bankrupt bank's value.

On Tuesday, Judge Mary K. Walrath in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware rejected WaMu's confidentiality request, contending that the court must know the purchase price before it can approve asset sales, the Associated Press reported.
