Game Developer Sued Over Virtual World Patent

By Ben James (December 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Multiplayer online game publisher and developer NCSoft Corp. has been hit with a lawsuit from Worlds.com Inc. accusing it of infringing a patent related to computer architecture for a three-dimensional multiuser interactive virtual world.

Brookline, Mass.-based Worlds.com, which bills itself as a pioneer in developing and delivering 3D content and technology on the Internet, filed the suit Dec. 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
