Breyer of the Northern District of California denied motions filed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to vacate the temporary injunction and speed up the proceedings in AFL-CIO v. Chertoff, NDCal, No 3:07-cv-04472-CRB), a lawsuit challenging the validity of regulations issued by DHS which would force employers to investigate and resolve social security mismatch notifications or face immigration consequences.
