Wal-Mart, Netflix Targeted In DVD Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (January 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Netflix Inc. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. face a federal antitrust class action alleging that the two companies conspired to create a monopoly on the online rental of DVDs and limit competition in DVD sales.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, accuses Wal-Mart and Netflix of restricting competition and illegally divvying up the market for online rentals and the sale of DVDs.
