GlaxoSmithKline Denied Bid To Unpause Philly Paxil Litigation

Law360, Philadelphia (July 15, 2016, 8:27 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania state judge has refused GlaxoSmithKline's bids to lift a stay on litigation over birth defects allegedly caused by the antidepressant Paxil that was imposed after evidentiary concerns ended one case mid-trial in April.

Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas Judge Arnold New on Tuesday entered one-page orders in seven cases denying Paxil-manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline’s requests to lift a stay over mass tort litigation that was entered in April until a final conclusion is reached in the initial case, which is currently being appealed.
