Dana Settles Patent, Antitrust Suits

Law360, New York (August 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt auto parts supplier Dana Corp. has agreed to a $1.625 million settlement with American Axle & Manufacturing Inc. that, if approved, would end eight years of patent litigation.

In return for the money, Dana will give American Axle a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to its patents for driveline assemblies.

“Although the debtors believe that they would present a strong case in any litigation of the actions and could prevail at trial, the debtors also recognize that litigation of these matters carries some risks,” Dana said...
