Becton Dickinson To Settle UltiMed Antitrust Suit

Law360, New York (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Becton Dickinson & Co. will pay rival medical technology company UltiMed Inc. $750,000 to settle an antitrust suit accusing Becton Dickinson of barring competition in the market for home-use insulin syringes.

The two companies filed a joint stipulation of dismissal with prejudice on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Becton Dickinson revealed the amount of the settlement in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission the same day.
