Longs' Drug Quiz Of Job Applicants OK: Calif. Court

Law360 (January 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A California appeals court has upheld a ruling in favor of Longs Drug Stores California Inc. in a lawsuit alleging that its job application violated state law by inquiring about past drug-related misdemeanors.

The Court of Appeals for the Fourth Appellate District of California ruled on Tuesday that Longs was abated from California labor law due to the 2006 passage of the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act.
