Water Group Sues US Over Ore. Coastal Pollution

Law360, New York (January 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A nonprofit water restoration group has sued the U.S. government for harming water quality in Oregon by not withholding grant money from the state's unsuitable nonpoint-source pollution program for its coast.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, Northwest Environmental Advocates alleges the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have violated the Coastal Zone Act Reauthorization Amendments of 1990 for years by failing to disapprove Oregon's nonpoint program or withhold grant...
