Mass. Builder Ordered To Pay $2.62M In DOL OT Suit

By Braden Campbell (August 2, 2016, 6:30 PM EDT) -- A Massachusetts federal court ordered a builder and its affiliate to pay the government and almost 500 employees the companies cheated out of overtime nearly $2.62 million in the biggest Fair Labor Standards Act wage recovery in Massachusetts since 2009, the U.S. Department of Labor said Tuesday. 

U.S. District Judge Timothy S. Hillman ordered construction company Force Corp. and affiliate AB Construction Group Inc. to pay $2.36 million in back wages and damages to 478 employees and fined the companies an additional $262,900 in penalties for their scheme to duck overtime payments required under the FLSA.
