Insurer Ducks Defense Of RV Exec's Defamation Suit

Law360, New York (August 9, 2016, 8:59 PM EDT) -- Cincinnati Insurance Co. escaped having to defend Global Caravan Technologies and its executives against a former CEO's suit for alleged wrongful termination and public humiliation when an Indiana federal judge ruled Tuesday that a policy exclusion applied.

U.S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt said the underlying suit against recreational vehicle maker GCT by former chief executive officer Charles Hoefer triggered the “personal and advertising injury” provision in Cincinnati’s policy.
