GM Files Major Claim For Cash From Delphi

Law360 (August 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General Motors Corp. has filed a “multi-billion dollar” demand for payment against bankrupt auto parts manufacturer Delphi Corp., setting the stage for a court battle just weeks after Delphi alluded to similar claims against GM.

Filed July 31 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, the so- called proof of claim document was filed against Delphi and its subsidiaries. Such claims are rarely paid in full to creditors that file them.
