High Court Refuses To Hear GM Class Action Appeal

Law360 (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear General Motors Corp.'s appeal of the Arkansas Supreme Court's affirmation of class certification in a massive product liability suit over purportedly faulty parking brakes installed in about 4 million GM vehicles.

The Supreme Court denied General Motors' petition for a writ of certiorari Monday without comment, letting an order from the Supreme Court of the State of Arkansas affirming a nationwide class stand.
