Defending Against Risks Of Importing From China

Law360 (January 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- In light of the recent recalls and media attention involving products imported from China, as well as the sweeping revisions to the Consumer Product Safety Act brought about by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (the “CPSIA” or “Act”), even small- to medium-sized manufacturers who incorporate Chinese-made component parts into their products, as well as importers and distributors of Chinese-made products, need to consider requiring that the Chinese entities with whom they do business obtain adequate insurance coverage.
