LabMD Taps 4 From Ropes & Gray For FTC Cyber Appeal

Law360, New York (August 19, 2016, 8:40 PM EDT) -- LabMD has hired four Ropes & Gray lawyers to lead an appeal due in weeks against the Federal Trade Commission, the law firm confirmed Friday, part of a sprawling grudge match with cybersecurity company Tiversa that started with the alleged theft of a patient data file.

Both Ropes & Gray LLP and LabMD CEO Mike Daugherty confirmed Friday that LabMD has hired partners Douglas Meal, Douglas Hallward-Driemeier and Michelle Visser and counsel David Cohen to appeal an order delivered by the FTC’s three commissioners in late July; a petition for reconsideration is due Aug. 22 and a federal circuit court appeal...
