Trustee Stands Tough In Objection To Lazard Fee

Law360, New York (January 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. trustee overseeing Northwest Airlines Corp.’s Chapter 11 proceedings has reiterated her objection to a $3.25 million fee request made by Lazard Freres & Co., saying the firm failed to prove that an enhanced payout was warranted.

In court papers filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, U.S. Trustee Diana G. Adams pointed out that Lazard had already been paid about $5.5 million, equal to $876 an hour, for its work as a financial adviser to the creditors'...
