Asarco Pens $3M Deal For Superfund Cleanup

Law360 (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Bankrupt mining company Asarco LLC has asked a judge to approve a $3 million deal with six companies, including BP America Inc., to settle claims related to the cleanup of a Missouri Superfund site.

On Thursday, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Asarco moved for approval of a settlement granting the companies an unsecured claim of $3 million.
