EPA To Rule On Petition To Nix Citgo Refinery Permit

Law360, New York (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has agreed to rule within the next three months on whether an air quality permit for Citgo Petroleum Corp.'s refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, should be revoked.

The air quality permit was originally challenged by three environmental groups in a citizen petition. Under the consent decree, lodged Wednesday, the EPA will either grant or deny the citizen petition by April 30, and it will also pay the environmental groups' $4,500 in attorneys' fees and costs.
