Starbucks Hit With Another FLSA Overtime Suit

Law360, New York (January 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former Starbucks store manager in Florida has slapped the coffee giant with a purported collective action accusing it of misclassifying store managers as exempt employees and failing to pay them overtime compensation in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The suit against Starbucks Corp. was lodged Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and alleges that plaintiff Ronald Reed and other store managers around the country worked more than 40 hours a week without receiving overtime compensation.
