Sanofi Sues To Protect Lovenox

Law360, New York (August 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two subsidiaries of French drug giant Sanofi-Aventis have filed a federal patent infringement lawsuit to stave off generic competition for the popular anti-clotting drug Lovenox.

The lawsuit—filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on behalf of Aventis Pharma S.A. and Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc.—names Sandoz Inc., the generics arm of Novartis AG, as the defendant.
