Lubrizol Fires Back In Superfund Insurance Spat

Law360, New York (January 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Facing claims of limited insurance coverage, Lubrizol Corp. has urged a federal judge to order Security Insurance Co. of Hartford to indemnify the fuel-additive maker for $4 million for the cleanup of a storied Superfund site in Texas.

Countering the insurance companies' complaint, Lubrizol filed a cross motion for summary judgment Tuesday, asking Judge Marcia A. Crone of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to force the recalcitrant insurers to indemnify Lubrizol for property damage at the Turtle Bayou site.
