Ericsson Brings Suit Against Freedom Wireless

Law360 (August 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Just a few weeks after Freedom Wireless received more than $92 million in a global settlement with other wireless companies, Ericsson Inc. is seeking a declaratory judgment against Freedom that it did not violate its patents covering a method for prepaid wireless services.

In the suit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, the Swedish handset maker asked the court to invalidate Freedom’s two patents, claiming they were unenforceable because Freedom “deceptively withheld information” from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office...
