Bidz.com Sues eBay Over Trademark

Law360, New York (October 17, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet auction company Bidz.com filed suit in the United States District Court for Central California against larger rival eBay, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition, the company said in a statement.

The suit alleges that eBay infringed on Bidz.com's "$1 No Reserve" trademark. Bidz.com sent a letter to eBay demanding the company cease all use of the mark, but eBay continues to advertise, promote and use the disputed mark, according to Bidz.com.
