Calif. Seeks Approval Of State Emissions Rules

Law360, New York (January 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- California’s governor has urged the Obama administration to override a Bush administration decision that prevents the state from implementing tougher regulations on tailpipe emissions.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger sent a letter to President Barack Obama on Wednesday, asking him to reverse the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s rejection of California’s bid for a waiver that would let it move forward with stricter standards on greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles.
