Oil Co. Hit With Fine, Probation Over La. Brine Spill

Law360 (January 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Oil production company Texas Petroleum Investment Co. has been ordered to pay $525,000, most of which will go to the federal government and two state funds, for spilling brine into a federal wildlife refuge in southeastern Louisiana.
