2nd Circ. Upholds Conviction For Illegal Oil Dumping

Law360 (January 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EST) -- Greek shipping company Ionia Management SA has lost a bid to overturn its 2007 criminal conviction for dumping waste oil into international waters and then lying about it to the U.S. government.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the jury verdict finding Ionia guilty of violating anti-pollution laws, falsifying records, obstruction of justice and conspiracy.
